I love stuff like this. Photographed by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO), the Monolith is a mysterious piece of rock on the potato-shaped hunk orbiting the red planet. Nasa scientists say it’s just a rock. Heck, it may be, but I (like many others) really want to find out.
The Canadian Space Agency hopes to send a an orbiter and lander to Phobos to study its geology. This Monolith is the proposed landing sight. Unfortunately, there is no date set at the present, but man would it be awesome to confirm whether this rock is just a rock – or something else…
